SUMMER MAIL ORDER - General Information (updated April 2008)
Uncinia Rubra Festuca Glauca Woodsia obtusa
Summer Mail Order
The bulk of our mail order service is during the bare root planting season (Nov to March). However container grown plants can be moved successfully at any tine of year and with carefully packing these can be sent to anywhere in Ireland during the summer months
Type of plants
Our Summer Mail Order Lists focus on young plants from 9cm or 1 litre pots. In general they are from 3 to 18 inches tall now, depending on species and variety, and the range includes: shrubs including a few trees, conifers, plants for groundcover and hedges, grasses, ferns and perennial flowers. All have good root systems and will establish quickly when planted out.
During the course of the summer many of the trees and shrubs outgrow their small pots and have to be potted on. We have indicated where this is case and the plants are still available under our Container Grown Lists
Larger Plants
Many other potted plants, especially evergreens can also be sent by mail order or courier, so check our Container Grown Lists if you are looking for plants that are not listed on these pages or for larger specimens
Post and Packing
Delivery is by Fastway Couriers or An Post. The plants are very carefully packed, each parcel has a tracking number and should reach you 48 hours or less after leaving the nursery. We send out at the start of the week to avoid parcels being held in transit over the weekend.
Delivery by Fastway Couriers is generally the most economical at €15-20 per parcel of up to 50 small plants. A signature is required on delivery and also a telephone number, preferably a mobile, in case the driver needs directions. A local garage or shop may be willing to take delivery if arrangements are made in advance.
With An Post, postage
is charged by weight and as a rough guide: p&p is approx €12 for 10 plants, €15-20 for 20-25 plants, €30-35 for 50 plants. It is more expensive but you do not have to be at home to sign for delivery.
How to Order
Orders can be given by letter, phone (027) 66176, fax (027) 66939 or email us at futureforests@eircom.net.
Please give your address clearly and  include a telephone number so if there are any problems we can sort them out as quickly as possible.
Payment
We accept Visa, Mastercard and Laser. Otherwise, unless you already have an account with us, please enclose a "limit cheque", crossed and payable to Future Forests Ltd with your order. Leave the amount blank but write across the top "not to exceed €uro (the amount you wish to spend)". We fill in the details when we send your plants and enclose a receipt with your order showing the exact amount the cheque was made out for. This avoids the hassle of refunds/credit notes should any plant have sold out, and it allows us to charge postage fairly.
Terms and Conditions
All prices include VAT at 13.5% except for herbs which are zero rated and postage which is exempt.
Should we have sold out of a particular plant, we reserve the right to make near substitutions unless requested not to do so.
While every care is taken to ensure that your plants arrive in the best of condition, we cannot be responsible for failures due to bad planting, drought, unsuitability of site, etc. Please unpack your parcel as soon as it arrives, and if you have any complaints or queries, advise us in writing within ten days of receiving your order.
All plants remain the property of Future Forests Ltd. until paid for in full.
Prices and stock correct at time of going to press.
