Future Forests - Mail Order/Courier Service Updated 20th November 2013

Future Forests has been supplying plants by mail order for over 20 years, so you can be sure your order will arrive safely and in good condition. The plants are carefully packed in special thermal bags, each parcel has a tracking number and, within Ireland, should reach you 48 hours or less after leaving the nursery. We dispatch at the start of each week to avoid parcels being delayed over the weekend.

Where can we send to ? All over Ireland and the UK by post or courier.

What can we send ? Any plant up to  5ft or 1.5 meter in height ~ Look at the size of some of those parcels below !
Bare root plants are available from November to March.  Container grown plants and young plants in liners can be sent at any time of year.

How do we dispatch ? We use both Couriers and An Post
Both provide an excellent service. Couriers require a signature on delivery and a contact phone number.
Do let us know if this might be a problem for you.

What does it cost ? Delivery charges within Ireland including Northern Ireland are generally 15 euro per order.
Delivery charges to
the rest of the UK are 18 euro per parcel up to 30kg.
Small or light orders eg 10 Raspberry canes can be sent with An Post for 10 to 12 euro.
Occasionally, if an order is very bulky or heavy, it may incur additional delivery charges. We can quote for delivery when we receive your order.
Our priority is to get your plants to you in prime condition as quickly as possible for a minimum charge.

What shall I choose ? Plants up to 5ft can be selected from our various Lists: 'Bareroot Lists', 'Container Lists' etc on the drop down menu at the top of this page. These lists give sizes, prices and quantity discounts.
You can also search for a particular plant using the Search button at the bottom of our Home page. If you'd prefer a paper copy, just let us know and we can post or email it in MS Excel.

How do I order ?   We don't have a shopping trolley (or a wheelbarrow) on this site......yet !
Orders can be given by letter, phone (027) 66176 or email
Email is especially suitable: we can confirm your order quickly, answer any queries, advise if a plant is sold out and recommend alternatives.  We then email you when your plants have been dispatched.

Is there an Order Form ? Most people just email a list of the plants they want.
You can also copy and paste into an email from the website or from a copy of the list in MS Excel (see above).
We include an order form with our paper list and you can request a version in MS Excel by email that you can complete and email back to us. We hope to have this online shortly.
As there is such a huge range of plants in different sizes, bare root and potted, it's a challenge to devise one order form that encompasses everything ! .....however, we are working on it.

How do I pay ? We accept Visa, Mastercard and Laser.
You can also contact us for our bank details and payee reference for payments by
credit transfer / online banking.
If you prefer to pay by
cheque,  please send a "limit cheque" crossed & payable to Future Forests Ltd. Leave the amount blank but write across the top  "not to exceed  X €uro" (the amount you wish to spend)
We only bill your card or fill in the details on your cheque when we send your order.
receipt will be attached to your parcel showing the exact amount charged.
Sterling cheques are no problem. We convert at the rate of exchange on the date of dispatch and note the sterling amount alongside the euro total. If you don't have a card or bank account, we can give you a quote and you can send us a postal order or bank draft
We are happy to supply regular customers with a good credit history on an invoice basis.

What do I do when my plants arrive ? Although the plants are packed in special bags to keep temperatures even and ensure the roots don't dry out, you should open the parcel as soon as it arrives. Check the contents, there will be a label on each plant or bundle of plants. If there is anything you are not happy with, let us know as soon as possible.
As long as the roots are damp, the plants will hold fine in the bags for a few days, stored upright in a shed or cool place.  Tie the bag to ensure wind does not get to the roots. If you can't plant right away, you should trench bare root plants in any spare piece of ground till you can move them to their permanent site. There will be a leaflet describing this in more detail along with advice on planting and aftercare in the 'Documents Enclosed' envelope on the side of your parcel.

PRICES & VAT: All prices in our lists include VAT at 13.5% except for Fruit, which is zero rated.

FORESTRY GRANTS, REPS, AEOS & TRADE: Further discounts available. Please ask for quotations on large orders.
We are inspected on a regular basis by the Dept. of Agriculture in accordance with the current phytosanitary regulations and can supply EEC plant passports also Certificate and Identity numbers for grant requirements.

Heights given are approximate and reflect the relative age and strength of plants as well as their actual height.
Should we have sold out of a particular plant/size, we reserve the right to make near substitutions unless requested not to do so in which case, if you have enclosed full payment with your order, we will send you a credit note or cash refund as you prefer.
While every care is taken to ensure that your trees arrive in the best of condition, we cannot be responsible for failures due to bad planting, drought, unsuitability of site etc. If you have any complaints or queries, please advise us in writing within 10 days of receiving your order.
All plants remain the property of Future Forests Ltd. until paid for in full
