Blackcurrants fruit on new wood, cut back a proportion of older branches in winter and top dress with old manure or compost to stimulate new growth. Red and white currants fruit on old wood so do not require hard prunning.

Most apples need a pollinator belonging to the same group (A, B or C) or to the group immediately above or below it

Rootstocks
Our trees this year are a selection of  M26 (small tree) or  MM106 (Larger tree especially suitable for poor ground).
The relative vigour of each variety also affects the eventual size. We also have a few older trees  from 20, too big for posting but available from our nursery. See our taller trees

Apples marked R are suitable for planting under REPS (Ireland) and  C are suitable under  CMS (Northern Ireland). These trees are all 1yr olds on MM106 as specified by REPS or CMS.  ( * from 2 litre pots)
